A Somali Journalist Mahamed Noor Ahmed commonly known as Fanah is facing a threat to execute him by people claiming to be members of Somalia’s militia Islamist group Al-shabab.
Mr Fanah Who is a chief editor of a Somali news website (wwww.codkaqaranka.com) received on Monday a message threatening his life through his Email address.
The threat barely comes after a news story publication, on the website, which the source of the threat described as “a story to fight against Islam”.
The editor has been staying in Kenyan capital city Nairobi since 2010 when he ran away from his homeland Somalia due to an insecurity issue over his journalistic work.“You are enemy of Islam and its people.
Do not think that our jihadists can not reach where you are hiding yourself.
One day our hand, on God willing, will reach and finish you” said this resent message.
In Somalia people with the same identity several times had sent the similar life threatening messages and telephone call to the veteran journalist.
“I feel danger and too much fear because many of my colleagues were threatened in the same manner and they were killed”, said the twenty five- year old editor with a worried face.
“This is a wordy message reading many things about my killing”, he added hiis website has been reporting touchable news and its analysis on all walks of Somalia‘s affairs over more than 5 years.
Since the beginning of the year more than 10 journalists were shot dead in Somalia’s capital city Mogadishu.
